Recently, on the 23rd of December, the U.S. Ambassador Dean R. Thompson and his wife, Jane Krill Thompson visited the Asha Vidhyashram School with some U.S. Marines.

In the spirit of Christmas, the Ambassador and his wife brought smiles to faces by distributing gifts to all the children and the Marines organized some activities to help connect to the students. These thoughtful tokens of encouragement were deeply appreciated and will be cherished by the students.

The visit left a lasting impression on the students and staff, reinforcing the importance of education, global connections, and community support. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the U.S. Ambassador and his wife for their invaluable contribution and for making this day unforgettable for the Asha Vidhyashram School.

Education

Our programs include the Asha Vidhyashram School, which provides free, high-quality education to underprivileged children in Kathmandu, as well as our Vocational Training Centres in Kathmandu, Chitwan & Chhaimale, which empower marginalized youth through skill enhancement courses such as English proficiency course, computer literacy and digital marketing. These initiatives equip them with the tools and knowledge needed to secure better job opportunities and build a brighter future.

Disaster Management & Medical Services

We deliver disaster relief, rebuilding, and risk reduction, which is complemented by free medical camps that provide essential healthcare to vulnerable communities, benefiting over 1000 individuals annually. Additionally, we expanded our disaster relief efforts, offering critical support during the recent flooding in Nepal, with funding from World Bank Nepal. We have hired a full-time nurse who will provide healthcare for the students and deliver health education to the wider community.

Women’s Empowerment

The Women’s Economic Empowerment program in Kathmandu & Chhaimale equips 140 vulnerable and marginalized women annually with skills in tailoring and beauty culture in total. This initiative empowers them to foster independence and build sustainable livelihoods through skill development and furthering their economic opportunities.

Volunteering

Our volunteer program empowers communities affected by material poverty through impactful initiatives such as educating children, mentoring youth, rebuilding post-disaster areas, and fostering global collaboration. Guided by the principle of mutual respect, we aim to create sustainable change and strengthen community resilience.

November 9th to 20th & December 16th to 30th

Embark on a transformative journey to the top of the world, making a meaningful impact at the HOPE School and our Vocational Training Center. Engage in teaching elementary school children, renovating and beautifying the Kathmandu school and the Chhaimale Center of HOPE. Lead computer classes for young people, conduct community outreach, deliver health and hygiene lessons, and train villagers in the effective use of water filters. Together, let’s make a lasting difference.
